Living with a chronic condition like #pulmonaryhypertension has taught me how to be extremely intentional with my energy. 💜
Here are a few things that help me show up for work consistently, while avoiding burnout:

1. Batch your work - On high-energy days, finish the more intense, deep-focus tasks. Use the low energy days to rest or complete the lighter admin work.

2. Take scheduled breaks - Setting a timer every hour as a reminder to take a 10-minute break to lie down, take a few deep breaths, stretch, or simply pause can prevent burnout before it starts. Rest works best when it’s built into the day.

3. Work near your rest zone - The ideal workspace isn’t always a desk. Beds or comfy chairs can become functional workspaces, especially when conserving energy is the priority.

4. Delegate - Hiring an intern or asking friends or family members to help with certain tasks can lighten the mental and physical load. There’s no need to do it all alone.

5. One task a day is enough - Progress is better than perfection. Even one meaningful task is a step forward, especially when energy is limited.

6. Keep your essentials close - Keeping things like your oximeter, medications, oxygen concentrator, water etc. within reach avoids unnecessary movement and helps manage dips in energy.

The key is to have a system, not a strict schedule. Being organised and having a plan helps conserve energy, but with something as unpredictable as PH, flexibility is just as important. ⚡️
It means allowing for space to shift things around, adjust timelines, and honour your body’s signals. 🧘‍♀️🧘‍♂️
